100 Good Wishes - One Squish at a Time!

To welcome and celebrate a new life, there is a tradition in the northern part of China to make a Bai Jia Bei, or 100 Good Wishes Quilt. It is a custom to invite friends and family to contribute a patch of cloth with a wish for the baby. Part of the patch of cloth goes into the quilt for the baby, and the other part of the cloth can go into a creative memory notebook with the wish for the child. The quilt contains the luck, energy, and good wishes from all the families and friends who contribute a piece of fabric.

Darling Chosen One...
A little bit of heaven smiled at us the first time we saw your precious face. Usually God decides which baby to send a Mommy and Daddy, but He most graciously allowed us to choose you from all the other babies. We planned and dreamed of you for a long time. Then suddenly, one day, we found you. You are our morning sun, our evening star, our darling Chosen One.

May all your hopes and dreams come true and all your days be filled with joy and laughter.

A book is a gift you can open again and again.
- Garrison Keillor

My wish for you is that you will get caught, at least once, under the covers with a flashlight, reading a book that just can't wait until morning.

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead.
